NADA HOUSE 2021
The third edition of NADA House is open for the public from May 8th to Aug 1st, 11am–5pm. The collaborative, public exhibition returns to Governors Island with 66 galleries, non-profits, artist-run spaces, and curators, presenting over 100 artists in three historic buildings.
CASANOVA presents an installation by Ignacio Gatica and Martin La Roche featuring two interconnected bodies of work. Ignacio Gatica presents a group of collected watches. Once used as propaganda for US presidential campaigns, the watches will be hacked to tick at specific times that reference moments when US foreign intervention dramatically shifted the way we perceive the present. Martin La Roche will display a collection of multiple crossword cut-outs, forming a rectangular architecture on the floor. La Roche explores the pastime as a technology to measure words, language, and meaning.
