1983. Eric Shaw lives and works in Brooklyn.

Eric Shaw creates geometric abstract paintings based on digitally manipulated gestures. Composing sketches on a smartphone drawing app, Shaw translates elements by hand with acrylic on canvas. Once transferred to canvas, the artist will often take photographs of his work and incorporate a further layer of smartphone sketches. Some works may include several of these sketches, forming complex interactions of lines, shapes, and colours. Adding to this interaction, the artist’s use of matte and glossy paint creates an illusion of depth and motion. Eric Shaw lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Shaw has exhibited nationally,  at Evergold Gallery in San Francisco, and Regina Rex in New York.

Shaw has exhibited internationally, most recently in The Hole (NY – 2017), The Cut, EVER GOLD Projects S.F.C.A (2016), Come As You Are at Annarumma Gallery, Naples (2016) and Stars & Stripes at Gordon Gallery, Tel Aviv (’16).
