About Rooms by Jong Ha from PLATOON Gallery in Seoul

When I first saw her photos I felt somehow shocked…out of breath. Surrounding us were pictures of a series of empty rooms, all of them had a window through which one could see a natural landscape.

I think her eyes can capture something different, something concealed behind the scenes, a feeling of absence, of vanished human activity; a place where nature seems to be glimpsing at us from the outside, leaving one with the impression of being imprisoned in a dilapidated building, cut out from our own perceptions, in a still shot of time where nature steps back, observing how we consume ourselves and vanish in decay.
