“In good hands”
Don’t touch, it’s art!’ gallerists used to tell us at tumultuous fairs. Sometimes, however, the almost magnetic attraction of some works spoke louder. But now, sliding our fingers across the cold screen of the devices, it seems difficult to estimate how much contact we have given up.
Living with art within the reach of our hands is to be in permanent dialogue. To open ourselves to new interpretations, to discover new aspects, and to constantly fall in love with certain particularities. In our first participation in the SP-Arte Viewing Room, we present a selection of works that we hope to be appreciated on a closer look.
C-A-M-A is a project created by many hands. A digital platform and exhibition space located in the city of São Paulo and inaugurated in 2021, created and managed collectively by the galleries Kubikgallery (Porto, Portugal), Cavalo (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), Periscópio (Belo Horizonte, Brazil), Casanova (São Paulo, Brazil) and by the publishing 55SP (São Paulo, Brazil). A place for horizontal relations in the cultural circuit, with the intention of debating about the medium’s accessibility and transparency, the professionalization and responsibilities of its individuals, the maintenance of the memory of now extinct spaces, and other necessary conversations. We are excited about our debut and the many possibilities ahead.
